Governor Ernie Fletcher conducted virtual town hall meeting by utilizing videoconferencing technology
Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher conducted a virtual town hall meeting from The Center for Rural Development headquarters in Somerset, Ky. on Monday, Jan. 8 where he utilized a CenterNET2 videoconference link with nine additional sites in cities across the state to announce a projected $279 million general fund budget surplus. Videoconference attendees from these locations were asked for suggestions and opinions on how the monies could best be utilized to benefit the state. Suggestions for using the surplus included improved health care and public education programming as well as retirement program funding and workforce training development.
