“21st Century Skills for the Classroom: Blogging,”
The New Russell County site facilitator, Deborah Connor wasted no time getting involved with interaction for the classroom. Russell County school personnel participated in, “21st Century Skills for the Classroom: Blogging,” a program provided by the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC). The program was targeted for curriculum directors, technology directors, administrators, grades 3-12 teachers, and instructional coaches. The kids are doing it! Can educators learn to use this as a powerful classroom strategy? This teacher-friendly session demonstrated how blogging is being used in classrooms around the country as a way to get students to think critically, write with a purpose, and organize their ideas. Participants also learned how to create their own blog in a matter of minutes that can be used as a communication tool with parents, communities, as well as kids. Blogs can transcend being an online journal to becoming a powerful collaborating learning tool.
